Well, Happy New Year!
For a few months now I have been saying to myself that I really would love a place of my own to teach Yoga from. I have been a mobile yogini and Yoga teacher for many years now and recently I have been tiring of lugging around my basket full of yoga mats, straps and cork blocks.
Well, lug no more!
Yesterday I took the keys to what is now the Light Hatch Studio on main street, Haliburton. It looks like finally this nomad is growing herself some roots. Though this is something I was indeed asking for, it has all come together quickly and a little by surprise. My plan is still to head to Mexico in February for 5 weeks of counting with my Yoga family and taking some time for private practice and retreat. That means the studio here will have a soft opening January 12th for a 3-week session and then will formally open mid March with a fuller schedule.
We spent a few hours there last night, which was a beautiful way to round out 2014and set the scene and tone for 2015. Salt lamp and beeswax candles were lit. Sage and incense were burned. Mantras were sung and Yoga was practiced!
As a kid, I used to come to this space for hair cuts. More recently I came here to drink some of the very best tea in Haliburton. I am over-the-moon excited to have the chance to share Yoga in this gorgeous space, overlooking the park and Head Lake. This is truly a dream space in one of the most beautiful places I know on Earth. The Haliburton Highlands is a truly fantastic place to call home, filled with the most amazing people. I am looking forward to contributing more actively now to this vibrant community and to sharing my passion and joy from this location.
Stay tuned and let us see how this unfolds!
